Weeklong group art exhibition in Bogra
weeklong group art exhibition, titled “Back to the Pundranagar,” began in Bogra last Friday at Bogra Zila Parishad Auditorium with a view to encourage the local youth in Bangladeshi art and heritage.
Local art group 'Chader Haat' arranged the exhibition in association with prominent and promising artists of the country.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) Md. Iftekharul Islam inaugurated the exhibition featuring 50 paintings by artists, including Professor Hamiduzzman Khan, chairman, Department of Sculpture, Faculty of Fine Arts, Dhaka University. Twenty-two artists from different institutes, including Bogra Art Collage, are participating in the exhibition. The weeklong display is open to all and will continue till July 8. 2009
“I feel fortunate to get this opportunity to have my works displayed alongside some of the leading artists of the country,” said Wahshat Binte Iqbal. Iqbal is a first year student of Bogra Art College.
Dhaka University teachers, including Md. Golam Faruque and Azadi Parveen, among others, attended the opening of the exhibition.[source: TheDailyStar]
