18-member Bangladesh contingent, leaded by BOA

General Kutubuddin Ahmed has joined the 28th
Olympic Games, which began on August 13 in Athens.

top sprinter Shamsun Nahar Chumki, who made
all arrangements to fly for Athens with the
continent, was forced to cancel the trip at
the eleventh hour, as she was found sick during
the final check-up on Saturday
The
number of sportsmen in the Bangladesh squad
has reduced to only four in absence of Chumki,
who was scheduled to compete in the 100-metre
sprint. Four Bangladeshi sportsmen -- shooter
Asif Hossain Khan, athlete Mohammed Shamsuddin,
swimmer Dolly Akhter and Jewel Ahmed - will
compete in three disciplines out of 301 events
of the Olympic games, the biggest sports show
on earth.
